NEW DELHI (CNN) -- An Indian Air Force MiG-21 plane crashed into a milk processing plant Monday in the northern state of Haryana, and there were initial reports that a number of people were injured, the air force said.
Air Force squadron leader Rajesh Dhingra said the accident happened immediately after takeoff from the air force base in Ambala.
Initial reports indicate the pilot ejected and has been admitted to the military hospital.
A special task force has been sent to the area to determine the cause of the crash and to assess ground damage.
Seven people, including three women and two children were injured, according to initial reports.
This is the second MiG crash in four days. On Thursday, a MiG-23 plane crashed in the neighboring state of Punjab, killing five people and injuring two dozen. (Full story)
