RAJOURI, Indian-controlled Kashmir (CNN) -- Four people have been killed and eight injured in a bomb explosion on board a bus in Indian administered Kashmir, police say.

The bus, bound for the Kashmiri capital Jammu, was preparing to leave the bus station in the town of Rajouri when the bomb went off.

Five of the most critically wounded casualties have been moved to a hospital in Jammu.

Thursday's attack prompted outrage from local residents, some of whom began pelting police with rocks saying they were not protecting them well enough.

Rajouri is situated close to the so-called Line of Control which divides the Kashmir region between India and Pakistan.

The bombing is second to hit the town in just three days.

On Tuesday two people were killed by a blast in the town's main marketplace.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack although more than a dozen guerrilla groups are fighting Indian rule in the territory.

India accuses Pakistan of providing funding, weapons and other support for Islamic militants to carry out attack on its territory.

Pakistan denies the charge, saying it only provides moral and diplomatic support to what it calls a legitimate Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
