LAHORE, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan police say they have foiled a plot to attack U.S. citizens and international aid workers during a raid on a home in Lahore.

More raids are planned across this mostly Muslim country as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police late Wednesday said they arrested four suspected terrorists -- all members of banned militant organizations -- during a raid on a home in the Mughalpura neighborhood of Lahore.

A fifth man, described as a barber who owned the home, was also taken into custody for letting the other men stay at his house.

The four militants were running a secret organization aimed at killing Americans in Pakistan, police said.

One of the suspects told police they were planning to carry out an attack on a church in Lahore by Friday.

Among items seized during the Wednesday raid were seven hand grenades, six pistols, bomb detonators and timing devices, a Kalashnikov semi-automatic assault rifle and a rapid-fire repeater, police said.

Police said the four men received training in Afghanistan, but it was not immediately clear if they were linked to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network.

Authorities said they planned more raids against their organization Thursday.

Police said they are also investigating to see if the group was behind recent terror attacks in Pakistan.

Attacks on Christian or Western targets have risen since President Pervez Musharraf joined the U.S.-led war against terrorism last year, riling extremist Islamic groups and sparking a crackdown on suspected militant groups.

Christians, Hindus and other religions make up about 3 percent of Muslim-majority Pakistan's 140 million people.
