SHOULDERBLADE, Kentucky (CNN) -- At least one person was killed and 10 others injured Saturday when strong winds hit a trailer park in eastern Kentucky, state police said.
The winds, which started about 4 p.m. EST, caused extensive damage to the community. A tornado has not been confirmed.
Dispatcher Derek Sturgill of the Kentucky State Police said the winds caused "numerous injuries to just about everyone down there -- all the occupants of the trailer park."
At least 10 trailer homes were "completely wiped out," he said, based on initial reports to police.
The National Weather Service issued a warning for damaging winds at 4:04 p.m. for Breathitt County, which includes the community of Shoulderblade, said Rich Thompson, lead forecaster at the service's Storm Prediction Center in Oklahoma.
The Weather Service issued another warning at 4:29 p.m. for Breathitt and neighboring Perry County, Thompson said.
