MODESTO, California (CNN) -- Detectives searched near San Francisco Bay on Sunday as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Laci Peterson, a 27-year-old pregnant woman, officials said.

Divers looked for Peterson's body in part of the bay Saturday but found nothing related. "I don't think we're going back unless we get some information that something develops there," Detective Dennis Holmes with the Modesto Police Department told CNN.

Detective Doug Ridenour, a department spokesman, said in a recorded message Sunday that the search was continuing in a "connecting county" but that details would not be released.

Holmes said that Sunday was mainly an opportunity for investigators to "catch up on paperwork."

"Probably starting tomorrow, we'll re-coordinate our search efforts and take a look at the case again," he said.

Peterson, expected to give birth to a boy February 10, has been missing since Christmas Eve. Her husband, Scott, told police he left their home that morning for a fishing trip alone in the bay, 85 miles away. He said his wife told him she intended to walk their golden retriever in a nearby park and then shop.

The dog was found that day, but no sighting of Peterson has been reported since.

No suspects have been named in the case, and authorities say no possibilities have been ruled out.

Holmes said authorities had received about 2,800 tips as of Sunday. "It's been about 100 tips or more a day," he said.

Investigators are picking through the tips to find potential clues, Holmes said. "We'd like to be hopeful that Laci's going to come home. But the longer a case like this goes on, the less optimistic I think people become.

"We're still acting on the premise that we're going to find her, and hopefully she'll be alive."
