LAGOS, Nigeria (CNN) -- More than 100 people whose loved ones have been stranded in London and New York since Christmas demonstrated at the Lagos airport Wednesday, demanding answers from the troubled state-owned Nigeria Airways.
The irate family members, along with stranded passengers, marched through the airport, shouting for the airline to do something to alleviate the situation.
The airport has been virtually shut off as a result, and police have been called in to quell the demonstration. There have been no reports of injuries.
The airline has been grounded since creditors seized one of its few remaining planes in London last week.
The family members are demanding that Nigeria Airways bring their loved ones home, while stranded passengers are demanding the cost of their tickets be refunded.
The airline has not commented.
