Bolton hope to sign Moreno on loan
BOLTON, England -- English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers are in negotiations to sign Spanish striker Javier Moreno on loan from Atletico Madrid.
"We all know about Javi and we are showing an interest in him," Bolton coach Sam Allardyce told the club's Web site.
"But it will come down to reaching an agreement with him and his club."
The 29-year-old, who has made just five appearances for Atletico this season after moving from Italian giants AC Milan, said he was considering the offer.
"I'm flattered that a team is interested in me because it shows that I am not finished," Moreno told reporters.
"At the moment I am not sure if I want to leave, though, and I'll have to think it over carefully because it is an important and difficult step to make.
Moreno failed to settle at the San Siro following his move to Milan in 2001. The previous season he scored 22 league goals for Alaves and helped the Basque club reach the UEFA Cup final.
Meanwhile, last-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Romanian striker Ionel Gania on loan from Turkish side Bursaspor.
The deal is conditional on the 30-year-old receiving a work permit.
