PARIS, France -- Real Madrid's superstars dominate French sports newspaper L'Equipe's prestigious Team of the Year.
FIFA World Player of the Year Zinedine Zidane is joined in midfield by club teammate David Beckham.
Defender Roberto Carlos and forward Ronaldo are also included.
But Italy's Serie A dominates in defense, with Milan pair Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini chosen alongside Juventus' Lilian Thuram and goakeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Juve's Czech playmaker Pavel Nedved, the European Footballer of the Year, is also included with Chelsea's Claude Makelele, who played for Real Madrid last season, making up the midfield quartet.
Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, the fourth Frenchman on the list, makes up the team.
