Hertha set to choose veteran Meyer
BERLIN, Germany -- Veteran coach Hans Meyer is set to take over at Hertha Berlin, nine months after announcing his retirement.
The struggling German side sacked Huub Stevens earlier this month and look set for a desperate battle to avoid relegation when the Bundesliga resumes in the New Year.
Meyer, 61, is currently chief scout at Borussia Moenchengladbach, who released him as coach in March.
"Before the deal is done I don't want to talk about the details," said Meyer, who spent most of his 30-year coaching career in the former East Germany.
