NYON, Switzerland -- Spanish side Valencia were handed a tough clash with Turkish champions Besiktas in the third round of the UEFA Cup.

Villarreal and Galatasaray were also paired together in another Spanish-Turkish match-up, while Barcelona were drawn with Brondby of Denmark.

Among the other big named involved, Inter Milan face French side Sochaux and Liverpool play Bulgarians Levski Sofia.

Two of Italy's four representatives were also drawn against Turkish opposition.

Roma take on Gaziantepspor and Parma face Genclerbirligi. Perugia face a difficult encounter with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

English side Newcastle face Norwegian side Valerenga, while Scotland's Celtic, beaten finalists last season, take on Czech side Teplice.

Mallorca, the fourth Spanish side in the draw, were paired with Russians Spartak Moscow.

First legs will be played on February 26, with second legs on March 3.
