Kallon and Blasi face lengthy bans
ROME, Dec 10 (Reuters) -- Inter Milan's Mohamed Kallon and Parma's Manuele Blasi face lengthy bans after the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) rejected explanations regarding their positive tests for the performance-enhancing drug nandrolone.
CONI recommended that both players should be punished on the basis of "intentional doping," a statement from the governing body said on Wednesday.
Midfielder Blasi tested positive after Parma's match against Perugia on September 14, and striker Kallon following Inter's game against Udinese two weeks later.
The precise length of the bans will be decided by the Italian Football Federation's disciplinary committee.
Under Italian anti-doping rules both face maximum two-year suspensions, though players testing positive for nandrolone in the past have received shorter bans ranging from four to eight months.
