Feyenoord close up on third place
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (Reuters) -- Third placed AZ Alkmaar blew a chance to put pressure on Ajax and PSV Eindhoven at the top of the Dutch first division when they were beaten 1-0 at RBC Roosendaal on Sunday.
Fourth-placed Feyenoord moved to within two points of Alkmaar as they eased past ADO Den Haag 4-1.
RBC's Edwin de Graaf settled the match with a header in the 63rd minute, although Roosendaal were reduced to 10 men late on when Tininho was shown a red card.
Feyenoord suffered an early setback against relegation strugglers Den Haag when they fell behind to a Cedric van der Gun header after 14 minutes.
Robin van Persie levelled 10 minutes later and Kees van Wonderen put Feyenoord ahead in first half injury time.
Van Persie's second and a powerful shot from Sebastian Pardo settled the match by the 58th minute.
Heerenveen moved into sixth with a 3-2 victory at NAC Breda in Breda 3-2 -- Gerald Sibon scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes of the match.
Hapless Zwolle are still four points adrift at the bottom of the table after a 5-2 defeat by Vitesse Arnhem for whom Nicky Hofs scored twice.
Alkmaar remain five points behind leaders Ajax, who had their game at Roda JC Kerkrade postponed on Friday, but are now four behind PSV Eindhoven who thrashed Volendam 7-0 on Saturday.
