LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- Turkish champions Besiktas' appeal to play their Champions League match with Chelsea at home in Istanbul next week has been rejected.
The game will go ahead in Gelsenkirchen after UEFA's decision to move the Tuesday match to Germany was upheld by the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport.
UEFA switched three matches from Turkey to neutral venues last week due to security concerns following a series of bomb attacks in Istanbul.
On Tuesday, Galatasaray beat Juventus 2-0 in Dortmund in front of a sellout 66,000 crowd.
"The CAS has decided to dismiss the application for urgent interim measures filed by the Turkish Football Association and the club Besiktas requesting the annulment of the decision made by UEFA," the court said in a statement.
The third match affected was Israeli side Maccabi Haifa's UEFA Cup clash with Valencia, which will go ahead in Rotterdam in the Netherlands on December 11.
Chelsea have already secured their place in the next round, but Besiktas need to repeat their win over the English side in London in October to advance.
