ATHENS, Greece (Reuters) -- Ten-man Real Sociedad claimed a 2-2 draw away to Olympiakos in Champions League Group D on Tuesday despite having striker Darko Kovacevic sent off.
The result ended the Greek side's hopes of reaching the next round and kept Sociedad in second place behind Juventus.
The Italian champions' clash with Galatasaray in Turkey was postponed following last week's suicide bomb attacks in Istanbul.
Sociedad took the lead on the half hour when the Greek side's goalkeeper Fanis Kateryiannakis charged out of his area and left striker Igor Gabilondo with an open goal.
Olympiakos fought back in the second half to equalize with a thunderous long-range free kick from Ieroklis Stoltidis.
After Kovacevic was sent off for his second yellow card offence, Uruguayan striker Neri Castillo outpaced the cover on 71 minutes to give the hosts the lead, but defender Gabriel Schurrer restored parity for Sociedad with a fine volley.
