Battaglia set for Villarreal move
MADRID, Spain -- Villarreal have agreed to sign highly-rated Boca Juniors midfielder Sebastian Battaglia, the Spanish Liga club announced on their Web site.
The Argentine 23-year-old is expected to move to the club after playing his final game for Copa Libertadores champions Boca in the Intercontinental Cup final in Tokyo against European champions AC Milan in on December 14.
Media reports claimed Villarreal paid $3.5 for Battaglia who is reported to have signed a four-and-a-half year contract.
Battaglia will be the fifth former Boca player to feature in Villarreal's squad, with Juan Roman Riquelme, Martin Palermo, Rodolfo Arruabarrena and Fabricio Coloccini already at the club.
