McLeish signs new Rangers contract
GLASGOW, Scotland -- Rangers manager Alex McLeish has signed a new four-year contract with the Scottish champions.
McLeish has been a big success since replacing Dick Advocaat in December 2001 and delivered the domestic treble last season after winning the League Cup and Scottish Cup in his first season with victories over Celtic in both competitions.
McLeish has also steered Rangers back into the group stages of the Champions League, and made an unbeaten start to the domestic league campaign.
McLeish, 44, had been linked in the media with the manager's job at English Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, who sacked manager Glenn Hoddle earlier this week.
