Del Piero targets Nov. 9 comeback
TURIN, Italy -- Injured Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero hopes to celebrate his 29th birthday by returning to action for the Italian champions. Del Piero, who suffered a calf injury in the early stages of Juve's 2-2 draw with Roma on Sunday, learned that he could return in five weeks after medical tests on Tuesday. "It would be nice to return on November 9, the day of my birthday when we play Udinese," Del Piero told the Gazzetta Dello Sport Web site. "It depends on the rehabiliation," he added. Del Piero will definitely miss Italy's final Euro 2004 qualifier against Azerbaijan next month, as well as Juventus' Champions League games against Real Sociedad and Olympiakos.
