Ravanelli agrees two-year contract
DUNDEE, Scotland -- Former Italy striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has completed his move to Dundee.
The 34-year-old has signed a two-year contract after holding extensive talks with Dundee director Giovanni Di Stefano over the past month.
Ravanelli, Dundee's biggest signing since Argentine Claudio Caniggia in 2000, could make his debut against Scottish champions Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
Dundee face Ravanelli's hometown club Perugia, where he began his career, in a UEFA Cup first round match on Wednesday, but the forward is not eligible for European action.
"I think this move will be good for me and Dundee," said Ravanelli, who scored for Juventus in their 1996 Champions League final success against Ajax Amsterdam.
"I'm not saying I will score 30 goals a season but a year from now, I think the move will have been good for me and the club.
"This club has a very good future and speaking to the manager and Giovanni di Stefano, showed there is a lot of ambition.
"Scottish football is a top class league in Europe as Celtic and Rangers have shown with their results."
