Chamonix stages World Cup downhill

Story Tools

CHAMONIX, France -- The men's World Cup downhill, which was cancelled in Bormio, Italy at the weekend because of adverse weather, will now take place in Chamonix on January 9.

Heavy snow and fog had hampered the staging of the season's fifth downhill on Sunday, forcing organisers to announce six different start times before they finally decided to cancel.

The International Ski Federation announced that a second World Cup downhill will also take place here on January 10 and a slalom on January 11.
