OBERSTDORF, Germany -- Norway's Sigurd Pettersen claimed victory in the first leg of ski jumping's Four Hills tournament with a record jump on Germany's K120 Schattenberg hill.

Pettersen jumped 143.5 meters -- 9.5 meters beyond the hill record -- for a winning score of 295.2 points.

Austrian 16-year-old Thomas Morgenstern finished a distant second on 272.7 points, ahead of compatriot Martin Hollwarth on 269.1 points.
