PERTH, Australia (Reuters) -- Samoa opened their World Cup campaign with a 10-try demolition of plucky Uruguay in Perth, running out 60-13 winners in the pool C match.

Center Brian Lima, playing in his fourth World Cup, and flanker Maurie Fa'asavalu, both grabbed two tries.

Wingers Sailosi Tagicakibau, Lome Fa'atau, Dominic Feaunati, prop Simon Lemalu, fullback Tanner Vili and lock Opeta Palepoi also crossed the Uruguayan line.

The South Americans, who conceded 12 tries when beaten 72-6 by South Africa in their opener, competed manfully up front but their defense was no match for the power and pace of the Samoan running in the loose.

Impressive number eight Rodrigo Capo and prop Pablo Lemoine, from a pushover, both scored tries for the Teros with captain Diego Aguirre adding three points from a penalty kick.
