WOODSTOCK, Georgia -- Tiger Woods stumbled to a double bogey at the 16th as U.S. Tour money leader Vijay Singh closed to within two shots going into the final round of the World Golf Championships in Woodstock, Georgia.
Woods needs to win to stand a chance of overhauling the Fijian, who powered into contention with an eight birdie 64, the best round of the tournament.
World number one Woods carded a 68 for 202 - eight-under-par. Tim Herron of the USA was third on 205, one shot ahead of Korea's KJ Choi.
It was a rollercoaster day for Woods, who is currently third in the moneylist behind Singh and Davis Love, as he carded five birdies, but also two bogeys and a double bogey six on the 16th.
Singh might also have been closer after picking up seven shots against the card in the first 12 holes, but bogeyed the 14th and 18th coming home.
Spaniards Sergio Garcia and Ignacio Garrido are the leading Europeans on joint fifth with Australian Stuart Appleby on 208.
