Inzaghi injury blow for AC Milan
ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi will miss next Wednesday's Champions League game against Celta Vigo after suffering neck and jaw injuries during a Serie A match at the weekend.
Inzaghi had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher wearing a neckbrace after a mid-air collision with Perugia goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac during Sunday's 1-1 draw.
A statement on the Milan website on Wednesday said Inzaghi would have to rest for eight to 10 days.
That will rule him out of next Sunday's league match against Lecce and the Champions League Group H match in Spain on October 1.
The Italian international striker has been in prolific form recently, scoring four times in Euro 2004 qualifiers against Wales and Serbia and Montenegro as well as hitting the winner in Milan's Champions League opener against Ajax Amsterdam.
The injury means he might also miss the Milan derby on October 5.
