(CNN) -- Summer's here and surf's up for re-runs and reality shows. There are dozens of new unscripted series about to hit the television airwaves.
There are talent contests for kids, senior citizens, comics and action stars; dating games for gay and straight alike; and everyone from Roseanne Barr to Chuck Woolery are swinging open the doors of their homes and inviting in the cameras.
But summer viewers choking on all this reality can find some relief in the cable networks, which are offering up more and more original programming for the summer months. Here's a guide to some of the more traditional fare debuting this month:
Ready for hot fun in the summertime? The sixth and final season of HBO's hit series "Sex and the City" starts Sunday, June 22. The show's executive producer tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that both Aidan and Mr. Big will be back, and that fans can expect "a wedding or two" this season.
Talk show host, stuntman and professional goofball Tom Green is returning to host "The New Tom Green Show," airing at midnight on MTV starting June 23. The hourlong show will include talk-show standards like a monologue, celebrity interviews and sketch comedy.
Pamela Anderson will try to put the spike in Spike TV when she debuts June 26 as an animated stripper who fights crime in this Stan Lee-inspired series. Warning: This cartoon isn't for kids.
And finally, Showtime debuts its answer to HBO's "Six Feet Under" on June 27. "Dead Like Me" features Mandy Patinkin, Jasmine Guy and Rebecca Gayheart in a new show that puts a positive spin the work of a teenage grim reaper.
