(CNN) -- Forget about "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers." Forget about the fourth season of "The Sopranos." You can even forget about Indiana Jones, although that may not be wise given that hero's ability to overcome all odds.
This holiday season, two DVD powerhouses dominate: James Bond and "Alien."
Of course, you'd better have a lot of time on your hands.
The entire James Bond series -- yes, all 20 movies -- has been put out in three boxed sets, two containing seven movies and the third six. Each DVD includes the film and several extras, from "making of" featurettes to the original TV commercials.
The "Alien Quadrilogy," all four movies, comes on nine DVDs -- two each for the four films and a ninth with whatever extras weren't included on the other eight discs. That means everything, indeed, except the gum on Ridley Scott's shoe.
Naturally, these aren't the only choices for the holidays. CNN takes a look at some of the DVDs available this season. (Click here for gallery.)
