SPECIAL REPORT

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- There's no escape from holiday shopping. Whether you're a regular joe or jane, or a Hollywood celebrity, you've got to make that list of gift ideas (and probably check it twice, too).

But if you're tired of the same old same old, a few Hollywood-inspired suggestions might be just what Santa ordered.

For example, if you're on a budget, you could follow the lead of Oscar winner Julia Roberts or heavyweight Hollywood hitter Will Smith. Sarah Jenkins, manager of Illume Candles in Los Angeles, says these stars and others -- such as Courtney Cox Arquette, Sharon Osbourne, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Lopez -- are either popping in or phoning in an order.

"J.Lo loves our Angelfood Vanilla," Jenkins says. "It's an amazing scent and it's doing really well. People just buy it up like crazy." Holiday scents such as Silver Fir, Mulled Wine and Fresh Pumpkin can also fill your home with the smells of the season - and without the calories.

Designer Joy Durham is spreading some holiday sunshine with "Sunshine's Scarves." The model, actress and single mom was broke last Christmas and decided to make some homemade gifts for her family, falling back on the crochet skills learned from her grandmother. The hand-created scarves she made were so popular, orders from friends and family started coming in and Sunshine's Scarves (named for her daughter, Sunshine) was born.

The colorful cloths can now be seen around the necks of Madonna, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Bob Thornton, and Sela Ward -- and the grapevine says one will be waiting under the tree for a former "sexiest man alive."

The scarves retail for $126, and a portion of the proceeds goes to a charitable foundation established by Durham to assist children, like Sunshine, who need prosthetics.

If you've got a special someone heading to the slopes for the holiday season, inspiration from the Terminator may be the ticket in the form of the T3 glasses by Sama Eyewear, which actor-turned-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger sported in the film and on the campaign trail. Designer and Sama owner Sheila Vance says the glasses are "made for high performance and very durable."

If you're looking for something a little more glamorous, Kiss frames from the same maker -- like those worn by Catherine Zeta-Jones in "Intolerable Cruelty" -- are jewel-encrusted for the up-and-coming socialite. Twenty percent of the purchase price from Sama Eyewear goes to benefit a drug treatment program.

Then there is cold, hard jewelry. Suzanne Wilson should know: her creations have adorned the necks and ears and hands of Beyonce Knowles, Melissa Etheridge, Teri Polo and Lauren Graham.

The jewelry designer helps husbands and boyfriends fill wish lists for her high-profile clients during this busy season with cameo cuffs, initialed items, chandelier earrings and, of course, diamond rings. Of course men, Wilson says, prefer to purchase safer choices such as necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
