Pitt, Jolie work on 'Smith'

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- Troubled thriller "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" looks as if it is headed back to the altar, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the title roles.

Fox-based producer Regency Enterprises and reps for the two actors are trying to work out dates to get the project going by year's end, sources said.

Close to two weeks ago, "Smith" looked to be unraveling with Pitt nearing an exit after a leading lady couldn't be found in the absence of his original co-star, Nicole Kidman, who had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts.

Jolie, who most recently teamed with Regency on the flop "Life or Something Like It," read the script and liked it and agreed to sign on if dates can be worked out.

The Simon Kinberg-penned project, which Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity") is attached to direct centers on a bored married couple who discover that they are enemy assassins hired to kill each other.

Jolie is due to begin filming Oliver Stone's "Alexander" in Morocco and London and will be finished close to December. Pitt will be done with his title role in "Troy" for Warner Bros. Pictures by then and has a window for "Smith" before he is due to begin "Ocean's Twelve" for Steven Soderbergh and Warners in February. One hitch could be Jolie's globe-trotting schedule promoting the upcoming Paramount release "Beyond Borders."

However, one source close to the talks said "all parties are working very hard to get this done because everyone wants it to work with Brad and Angelina."

Jagger to be 'recharged'

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Mick Jagger, forced to cancel a Rolling Stones concert in Amsterdam because of a sore throat, promised to be "suitably recharged" when the band starts its British gigs on Saturday.

Apologising to Dutch fans in a statement after the Amsterdam concert was postponed on doctor's advice, he promised: "We will be back in September to do the gig and we will give you a Stones show you'll not forget."

"I will be suitably recharged, recovered and fit for Saturday's kick-off of the UK dates at Twickenham stadium in our home town," said Jagger, who turned 60 last month and celebrated with a concert for 60,000 fans in Prague.

The "Licks" world tour began in Boston last September and then worked its way across the United States, Australia and the Far East before coming to Europe in June. The Rolling Stones wrap up at London's Wembley Stadium on September 15.

Limp Bizkit aims for 'Results'

NEW YORK (Billboard) -- After a seemingly endless array of names, the new Limp Bizkit album seems to have a title: "Results May Vary," frontman Fred Durst writes on the band's official Web site.

"Like a prescription drug, each person's reaction to the ingredients will be different. So with our new album, each individual will have their own reaction and results may vary!"

"It is an album you should listen to from beginning to end to get the full effect," Durst continues. "I have put in a couple hidden things in the CD as well. There are 16 tracks and plenty more where those came from."

A limited number of copies of "Results May Vary" will be bundled with a 35-minute DVD, culled from a four-hour home video titled "Poop" that will be released later this year. "It's stuff that dates way back to day one in Jacksonville, Florida," Durst says.

The video for first single "Eat You Alive" stars Durst and actress Thora Birch. The cut is No. 24 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks airplay chart and No. 25 on the Modern Rock Tracks tally.

Having completed the Summer Sanitarium tour with Metallica and Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit has three European dates lined up in the coming weeks: August 31 at the Terremoto Festival in Weeze, Germany, September 2 in Amsterdam and a free September 6 show at London's Finsbury Park.

Motorhead goes 'Stone Deaf'

NEW YORK (Billboard) -- The output of legendary metal act Motorhead will be celebrated October 7 with the Metal-Is/Sanctuary release of the five-CD box set "Stone Deaf Forever!"

The first Motorhead-approved box set, "Stone Deaf" will feature 99 tracks spanning the group's career.

Formed by vocalist/bassist Lemmy Kilmister, late of Hawkwind, in 1975, Motorhead honed its battering blend of speed-metal rock through a plethora of lineup changes. "Stone Deaf" includes recordings stretching from the band's early days through 2002. The hits and rarities will be complemented by 19 previously unreleased tracks and decorated with a 60-page booklet featuring essays and unpublished photos.

Of the set's five discs, four are organized chronologically, with the first covering 1975-1980, the second 1981-1986, the third 1987-1996 and the fourth 1996-2002. The fifth is a live disc spanning 1975-2002.

The unreleased tracks stem from a BBC "Peel Session" in 1978 ("Louie Louie," "Keep Us on the Road," "Tear Ya Down" and "I'll Be Your Sister"), as well as BBC Sessions from 1980 and 1986 featuring "Live To Win," "Like a Nightmare," "Killed by Death," "Deaf Forever," "Orgasmatron" and "Dr. Rock."

Motorhead's current lineup of Kilmister, drummer Mikkey Dee and guitarist Philip Campbell is on a summer North American tour with Iron Maiden and Dio. Last September, the band released a 25th anniversary DVD, "25 & Alive: Boneshaker: Live at the Brixton Academy" featuring guest performances by Brian May (Queen), Whitfield Crane (Medicine, Ugly Kid Joe), and former Motorhead guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clark.
