New York fashion week 2003
(InStyle) -- The event: New York fashion week 2003, showcasing fall collections and the perennial riot of front-row celebrities.
THE SETTING
Although the press has deemed this year's shows low on celebrity wattage (orange alert, perhaps?), a few designers managed to pull in their regulars.
P. Diddy's Sean John collection wowed the likes of Aimee and Kelly Osbourne; Rosario Dawson was seen front-row at practically every show; and Hilary Swank, Claire Danes and Sarah Jessica Parker showed support for Narciso Rodriguez.
The hands-down favorite -- and the place for star spotting -- was the Marc Jacobs show on Monday night, with an after-party that included Sofia Coppola, Mandy Moore, Jimmy Fallon, the Strokes and Anna Sui, among others.
Time magazine launched Style and Design, with a midtown bash attended by cover girl Heidi Klum, model Carol Alt and designers Kate Spade and Nicole Miller.
SURPRISE STARS
Fashion royals Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera's collections were the talk of the shows, as was Naomi Campbell, who stayed well under the party radar.
