(PEOPLE) -- Most celebrities adore being noticed -- especially when it's for the bright reason.
"Wearing color is an expression of happiness," says New York City stylist Rebecca Weinberg, who helped Annabella Sciorra into Dolce & Gabbana's purple shearling coat.
Selma Blair looks content cloaked in a bold wool Versace, while Lisa Ling takes a subtler approach, jazzing up jeans and a Burberry coat with an orange, mandarin-collared top.
"How you wear color is a reflection of your taste and how you feel," adds Weinberg. "It means you're confident, that you feel good about yourself."
And choosing a hue isn't an art form, she says, "have fun with it."
In other words, look at the bright side of life -- then wear it.
