(InStyle) -- The event: The 29th annual People's Choice Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.
Awards season kicked off with stars from the music, television and film industries accepting awards that were voted on by the general public.
THE NOMINEES AND PRESENTERS
Faith Hill, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, John Ritter, Katey Sagal, Nia Vardalos, Joey Fatone, Blythe Danner, John Corbett, David Caruso, Marg Helgenberger, Jorja Fox, host Tony Danza and many more.
THE WINNERS' CIRCLE
"This award show is different because it's all about the fans, and this is why we loving coming," said favorite female musical performer Hill, who arrived arm in arm with husband McGraw. Favorite male television performer Romano will be giving his statue to his mother, while Hill plans to put hers next to her daughter's soccer trophy.
And before exiting with the award for favorite comedy motion picture, the cast and crew of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" had a few laughs in the press room, courtesy of producer Hanks, who took a seat among reporters and threw questions at his fellow Wedding-mates. Wife and fellow producer Wilson was also grateful for the award, adding that "this particular award is great because the viewers, fans, actually nominate and vote for you, and that is a great feeling."
