LONDON, England (CNN) -- Following are key facts on Air France and KLM, which have announced a deal that would see the two carriers combine to create the world's third-largest airline. Air France
• Air France is ranked as Europe's third biggest airline behind Germany's Lufthansa and British Airways. • With a fleet of 373 aircraft, it flies to more than 200 destinations in 85 countries. • The airline is still 56 percent owned by the French government, but that hasn't stopped it from exploiting the ever-expanding Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport to increase services to Africa, the Caribbean and South Asia. • Air France has also benefited from its involvement in the SkyTeam alliance with Korean Air Lines and the U.S.'s Delta Air Lines. • The alliance competes with BA's oneworld and Lufthansa's Star Alliance.
