Tokyo market opens higher

TOKYO, Japan -- Tokyo stocks are slightly higher in early trade Monday, led by small gains for Honda, Toyota and other blue chips.
The Nikkei 225 average is up 0.19 percent at 9345.22. That comes after Friday's close, when the index put on 0.67 percent to end a four-day losing streak.
The broader Topix index is 0.52 percent higher to 922.25.
The gains in Japan follow a modest rise for industrial leaders on Wall Street Friday, with the Dow putting on 0.71 percent.
Honda is 0.65 percent higher to 4630 yen, while Japan's biggest automaker Toyota is 0.33 percent higher to 3060 yen. Nissan is unchanged at 1192 yen.
The market's biggest stock, mobile phone company NTT DoCoMo, is up 0.36 percent to 281,000 yen. Tech-related issues such as Hitachi, Fujitsu, Kyocera and Canon are firmer. Big banks are also moving higher.
Stocks in Australia and New Zealand are up slightly, but South Korea's Kospi is showing a fall of about 1 percent to 697.63.
