Nissan,Yulon form joint venture
TOKYO, Japan -- Japan's Nissan Motor and Taiwan's Yulon Motor will enter a joint venture, the two companies said Tuesday. Yulon Motor will split its operations in two under the deal, details of which were released in Taipei on Tuesday afternoon. Yulon Motor, Taiwan's biggest carmaker, will hold 60 percent of the venture, to be known as Yulon New. It will specialize in Nissan business in Taiwan. Yulon's contract manufacturing operations will be held in a separate business to be known as Yulon Original. Nissan has had a long-term technology relationship with Yulon. Yulon shares closed 3.69 percent higher Tuesday at T$42.10. The broader market ended 0.1 percent lower.
