3 killed in Pittsburgh restaurant shooting

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Pittsburgh police are looking for two or three men who burst into a neighborhood restaurant and opened fire, killing three people -- including a man in a wheelchair and an 8-year-old girl.

The shooting took place early Friday evening at Mr. Tommy's Sandwich Shop in the Homewood neighborhood east of downtown, Pittsburgh Police Lt. Thomas Stangrecki said.

Strangecki said the girl and another man died after being rushed to hospitals, and the man in the wheelchair, identified as Thomas Mitchell, died on the scene. A woman was seriously wounded in the shooting.

Mitchell had been paralyzed in another shooting several years ago, Strangecki said, but he did not have any details of the incident. The lieutenant said that "there were some indications" that Mitchell may have been targeted in Friday's shooting, "but that's unconfirmed as of yet."
