New trends in exercise

"Hydroride" classes put stationary bicycles under water to increase the resistance.

(CNN) -- The numbers are alarming: More than 61 percent of Americans are either overweight or obese. Is the reason for this national health concern related to the lack of motivation toward exercise?

For some, the problem does lie with motivation. Experts say one way to get people motivated is to provide new and exciting ways to exercise.

In health clubs across the country, group indoor cycling has become the exercise of choice for many Americans. Now, the program has gone underwater.

Hydroride, a name used at Crunch Fitness in Atlanta, is described as a complete cardiovascular workout. The resistance is 12 times greater than on land.
