Israel enters Palestinian-controlled areas of Hebron

HEBRON, West Bank (CNN) -- The Israeli army entered four Palestinian-controlled areas here late Friday, according to Palestinian security sources.

The sources said one of the areas was Haret Al-Sheikh.

Both sides exchanged fire, but no casualties were reported, the sources said.

The Israeli army said it knew of no incursions into the area. It reported that there was an exchange of fire, but all was quiet.
