One wounded in Barcelona bomb

MADRID, Spain -- One man has been wounded in two small bomb blasts in Barcelona, Spain.

Police have blamed Thursday morning's attack in the northeastern city on Marxist paramilitary group GRAPO, The October First Anti-Fascist Resistance Group, linked to similar attacks in the past.

The first bomb detonated at about 1:50 a.m. (2350 GMT on Wednesday) and shattered the windows of an employment office. A young man was injured as he drove past, local radio reported.

The second explosion came 15 minutes later in a garden several metres away.

No one has immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.

The radio quoted police as saying the explosions were caused by homemade devices, said Reuters news agency.

A police spokeswoman told Reuters she could not confirm the exact details.

A Barcelona savings bank was hit by a similar attack last month -- also linked to GRAPO -- which caused no injuries.

The group is not linked to the Basque separatist group ETA, responsible for many violent bombing campaigns in their fight for independence in the Basque country, north-western Spain.
