French journalist killed by Taliban ambush

By CNN Paris Bureau Chief Peter Humi

PARIS, France (CNN) -- A journalist for Radio France International was killed in Afghanistan Sunday when the Northern Alliance troops she was with were ambushed by the Taliban, RFI officials said.

The radio station said Johanne Sutton was killed in northeastern Afghanistan, and news of her death came from opposition commander Mohammad Abdullah.

RFI officials said they were in the process of bringing her body home.

The radio station had no information on a second journalist who was with Sutton, who is now reported missing.
