As summer arrives, debate over Jet Skis rages on
(CNN) -- The personal-watercraft battle is being fought in and out of the water.
Environmentalists long have considered personal watercraft -- often called Jet Skis, the brand name of a Kawasaki model -- to be a nuisance because of noise and pollution that accompany their use. Some national parks have banned the craft from their waters, and other parks are prepared to follow.
But the personal-watercraft industry is read to fight back, saying its new models are more fuel-efficient.
