Mel B's ex on child assault charge
LONDON, England -- The ex-husband of Spice Girl Mel B has appeared in court charged with common assault on a three-year-old boy.
Jimmy Gulzar, 34, was dressed in a black suit with a black shirt and black tie for his brief appearance before Horseferry Road Magistrates Court in central London on Monday.
The Dutch-born dancer allegedly assaulted the child at London Zoo on September 1.
Gulzar, of Willesden, north-west London, was remanded on conditional bail by District Judge Geoffrey Parkinson to reappear on November 12.
Parkinson imposed an order banning identification of the alleged victim.
Gulzar married Mel B in 1998, but the couple were divorced last year.
