Avalanche sweeps bus, truck into sea in Norway; at least 2 dead

KJOSEN, Norway (CNN) -- A bus, believed to be carrying about 10 passengers, and a truck were swept into the sea Wednesday by an avalanche near Kjosen in northern Norway. Officials said at least two people were killed.

Two people were rescued, police said, according to the Norwegian wire service NTB. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. local time.

The fate of the other passengers was not immediately known.

Heavy snow was reported in the area on Wednesday.
