Dynamic to romantic: Swarovski for summer

PARIS (CNN) -- Contrasts in shapes, color and mood highlight the spring/summer handbag and jewelry collection for Daniel Swarovski.

Paris accessory designer Rosemarie Le Gallais is the architect behind the collection. This year, she builds with new chalk-white crystal.

"I felt (that) for this summer, I wanted the base in pure white mixed with luminous colors -- olivine, fuchsia, lavender and jet (black)," she says.

Le Gallais says she favors brighter accent colors over pastels. "You want happiness," she says. "You want a clear statement somehow -- pure and clear."

Her quest for clarity extends to the simple shapes of daytime handbags. She does purses in fine leather or mesh that are bigger than evening bags, but still feminine.

The collection's patterns are strong with geometric patterns, and the jewelry -- particularly bracelets and chokers -- remains simple..

"I wanted the shapes and the designs very clear," she says. "There is a desired simplicity as you see."

For evening, Le Gallais goes for the gold to create delicate and romantic looks.

"I brought the gold back because I like the idea of gold ... on chalk white," she says. "There this contrast of freshness and precious(ness)."
