(ELLE.com) – Model Angela Lindvall teams up with Roman Coppola for her silver screen debut, and Tom Ford is recognized for his work with Gucci at The Fashion Group International's gala evening in New York.

Angela’s Assets
After starring in a multimillion-dollar ad campaign for Tommy Hilfiger, model Angela Lindvall is set to hit the celluloid screen. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the Kansas City native and current cover girl for Chanel is putting in face time to appear in Roman Coppola’s first flick "CQ." Reportedly shot in Luxembourg, the film centers on a young, American sci-fi director and also features French film icon Gerard Depardieu. After Sofia Coppola’s "The Virgin Suicides," Roman Coppola is the latest sibling from the Coppola clan making his feature film debut.

Tom on Top
Hunky designer Tom Ford was the superstar honoree October 24 at The Fashion Group International’s gala evening at New York’s Cipriani restaurant. Ford received the award for his work as creative director at Gucci. Other awards were given to George Lucas for the design efforts in his "Star Wars" films and to Silvia Fendi for accessories design. Bill Cunningham was also recognized for his New York Times photographs. Guests included actor Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones wearing a black Fendi dress and 144-karat Indian diamonds, Charlize Theron in Gucci and Sofia Coppola in a vintage black dress. Designers Pamela Dennis, Stella Tennant and Todd Oldham, were also present, as was the new Opium perfume model, Sophie Dahl. The View's Lisa Ling and Star Jones were hosts of this galactic event.
