(CNN) -- The goal of the Zambonis is to merge their love of guitar picks and hockey pucks.
Hailing from Connecticut, the Zambonis bill themselves as "North America's favorite all-hockey band," writing and playing rock songs about their favorite sport. Titles of tracks off their albums include "I Wanna Drive the Zamboni," "Hockey on the Moon" and "Shot ... Score!"

"We try not to get offended when people ask us why we write only about hockey," says Peter Zamboni. "But we feel that most of what we call 'non-hockey bands' write songs that don't really have any content anyway. So why not focus what we talk about and take it from there?"
The gimmick is apparently working, at least in the PR department. The band has received a steady stream of attention from media outlets, including an article in Sports Illustrated and an upcoming mention in Rolling Stone.
Hockey anyone?
