Actress Geena Davis to marry surgeon
LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) -- Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis, who currently stars in an ABC-TV comedy, "The Geena Davis Show," is engaged to marry 29-year-old surgeon Reza Jarrahy, her publicist said Monday. Davis, 44, and Jarrahy, who met two years ago through mutual friends, became engaged over the weekend, publicist Paul Bloch said. The couple has not yet set a wedding date. The tall, red-headed Davis, who won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for the 1988 film "The Accidental Tourist," was previously married to actor Jeff Goldblum and director Renny Harlin. The Massachusetts-born former Victoria's Secret model broke into movies in the 1982 film "Tootsie," starring Dustin Hoffman. She was nominated for an Oscar for playing opposite Susan Sarandon in "Thelma and Louise. She will appear next year in the film "Stuart Little 2." Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
