ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- "Charlie's Angels" are kickin' butt and takin' names at movie theaters this weekend. The updated version of the beloved '70s TV series features Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore as the latest group of girl detectives working for Charles Townsend's detective agency.

John Forsythe returns as the disembodied voice of Charlie, and Bill Murray stars as his faithful lieutenant, Bosley. The plot -- angels use feminine wiles, James Bond-like gadgetry and martial arts to find out who kidnapped a software genius.

"Charlie's Angels," rated PG-13, opens nationwide on November 3.
