(CNN) -- One round of speculation down -- let the next one begin. Dustin Hoffman announced the 1999 Oscar nominees on Tuesday morning on behalf of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. "American Beauty" led the pack with eight nominations. Not far behind were "The Cider House Rules" and "The Insider" with seven each. The winners are to be revealed on March 26, giving office-pool organizers about six weeks to prepare.
