Poll: Gore gaining on Bush

Al Gore has closed to within a single point of George W. Bush among all likely
voters, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.
If the election were held today, 46 percent of likely voters who choose Bush
and 45 percent would pick Gore. Conducted March 30-April 2, the
poll consisted of interviews with 998 adult Americans, including 498 likely voters.
In the last CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, taken just after both men effectively clinched their parties' nominations, Bush led by a 49 percent to 43 percent margin.
